On The Literal Bashing of HERO FACTORY.
I was browsing a well know image site (TO be precise, it was deviantart.com) for Bionicle Pictures, and I came across a picture of William Furno, the actual set. With his lower torso snaped clean off, and his right arm literally cut off at the joint. There was a comment by the "Artist" That said: "This is a message."* And the comments, well... Also, there was a person who posted on BZPower and specifically commented "I will make movies that bash the Hero Factory sets! (with the bionicle sets literally bashing the Heroes)"*
Look, I understand that you don't like HERO FACTORY, but buying sets just to
destroy them is a waste of money. If you don't like Hero Factory, Don't go to the trouble to smash the sets to pieces and keep buying more in hopes that Lego will "Bring Back Bionicle when Hero Factory fails!"* No. Just NO. That will NOT work. It has been said that "Hero Factory is a test to see if people are still interested in build-able figures."* If Hero Factory fails, Lego won't bring Back Bionicle, Nor would they continue Hero Factory. Your buying sets to "bash" them is only going to make Lego think people like them and it will screw up their results.
I wasn't going to comment on this, but really: Physically Destroying a set is NOT cool. If you don't like something, just avoid it. Don't go to the trouble to go and SMASH perfectly good sets to pieces just because of a
NAME Change. And that's all Hero Factory is. A Name Change.
Let me give you an example, if, say, Bionicle had continued on into 2010, as it was originally planned with Element Lords and the Valley of the Maze, We'll assume that "XPlode" would be the Elemental Lord of Fire. Now, take a look at XPlode, and think of him as a Bionicle set, and not a "Hero Factory" Set. Let me ask you, Mr. "Literally Bashing Sets Because It's Not Bionicle", would you
really, Honestly and truthfully, go to the trouble to
Destroy this set?
I thought not. Look, here's the thing. Hero Factory is Just "BIONICLE" Under a new name, a new universe, and a new story line. The sets are
EXACTLY THE SAME.
Look past the "Name" and look at the sets themselves! Mr. "Bashing Sets", look at that Furno you just destroyed and look at it as a Matoran, or an Agori, not as a Hero. Doesn't it look just pitiful? When I saw that picture of yours, I felt SORRY for the poor Hero, not any form of enjoyment. It makes me SICK to think that there are people who think that destroying a TOY just because of it's NAME is enjoyable.
You're not being "Cool", you're not being "A TRUE HERO", you're bing a BULLY. A big, ol' bully who picks on others who are smaller than them and have no form of self-defense. I do not tolerate this behavior.
I want you to think about this the next time you go to destroy a Set. You're acting like a Child who can't take "No" for an answer. You may be upset that your favorite toy line has "ended", but it's successor is identical. This isn't "Justice", it's un-justified hate. If you can't handle a simple Name Change- And Do NOT Tell me it's the Principal of the matter- then you should not be allowed to buy these toys.
Lego is a dear thing to me, It's been a constant in my life, Bionicle just as much. And to see you breaking sets ON PURPOSE because of this, it makes me Sad. If we ever meet in real Life, Mr. Set Basher, Be prepared to receive the same treatment you gave these sets from the very blunt end of My Lego Crowbar.
