I Am Not Amused
{I appologize for the rant, but, please, just read this. You can Skip to the end if you have ADD, though.}
Okay: Cyan, Just give us a one word answer, Yes, No, or Maybe.
We NEED To Know. NOW. The In-fighting on the MOUL Forums has just gotten on my last nerve! "Hack" or "Not a Hack", "Cyan Story" or "Player Story", It has Gotten to the point anymore that when ANYTHING happens, the community immediately Shouts To the Sky: "OMGEE! IT'S A HAAAAACK!"
First thing: The Memorial Imager Incident.
When it was seen that the Imager displayed the infamous "Killroy" Message on a Day when the Vault went completely BONKERS, everyone on the MOUL Forums IMEEDIATELY asumed that it was a Hack. Some even went as far as to suggest a "Cleansing" of the community. Someone I Rather respected.
I later learned, through a group of explorers who had been part of a Beta version of URU at some point, that the "Killroy" message was the Default text for the Imager.
CYAN: You never clarifyed on this. Not a single "Yes", "No", or "Maybe" from you.
Take the chance now to Clarify, Was the "Killroy" message on the imager a Hack?
One Word: Yes, No, or Maybe.
Second: The "NotABeast" That appeared last night.
It was my friend's first Bahro sighting. Let me stress that. Her FIRST Bahro.
Now, NotABeast appeared at the Dock Link in point, Stayed there for a bit, and poofed. He then appeared in Kirel, similarly stayed, and then vanished.
Here's the funny thing: People got a KI# off of him. Heck, I even added it to my Buddies list. Got a Pic of it too. As of this moment, said KI# does NOT show on buddies. Exactly like the old Bahro of MOUL 1. Which leads me to believe that this is Your doing, Cyan, and that the brief "Showing" of the KI# was just a glitch in your Cloak.
Now, People on MOUL Forums asumed IMEDIATELY That NotABeast was a Hacked account. Some even went so far as to say that the fact that the KI# SHOWED Was because it was a Hack. ONE Person says his "Group" have "Tools" That allow them to view the vault and it's core, and allow them to find avatars and match them to One account. This guy said that "NotABeast" was a bahro avvie in the same account as another Bahro Avvie named, Get this, "OMG!HAXXOR!" or something of the like.
Now, ask yourself this. If you were some elite Hacker, and knew the in-s and out-s of the server, and you could make an avvie a Bahro, Would you HONNESTLY name it "Hey! I'm a Hack!" Right out in the open like that? Sure, if you wanted to keep it to your self and never show it to anyone; But what would be the point in doing that?
None at all.
If I were a Hacker of the Vault, Which I am not, I wouldn't name an avvie "Hey! Hack right here!" Even for a Joke to MYSELF. I would use ALL Five avatars to their maximum useability. Not even for a private joke. Just Common sense.
Now, back to the "Hack" thing. I just mentioned that the guy said his group has "Tools that can access the vault."
Did any of you catch that?
That's right! He Just ADMITED To hacking! Which is what this whole arguement about the Bahro avvie is about, right? And yet NO-ONE on the Thread about this Bahro arguement has commented on this, saying "Hey, aren't YOU Hacking and disturbing the vault? Maybe YOU'RE the guy we should not be trusting."
I think this guy's just trying to make trouble. Think back to the Pilot Episode of CASTLE.
The Serial Killer was matching Castle's book murders almost exactly, wiped the crime scenes CLEAN of all evidence, such as finger prints, but sends the guy a LETTER, basically ADMITING to the crime, with his fingerprints all over it? Adds up, right?
WRONG.
A Set up. A SMART Hacker wouldn't go to all the trouble- And you'd have to be smart to hack Cyan's Vault- only just to admit it's a hack!
I'm sorry, but not even the Drizzle tools for OFFLINE URU Can make your avvie look like a bahro, and yet some guy can make it work online via a hack, not once but TWICE, and admits it as a Hack by NAMING an avatar "OMGHACK!"?
Sorry, You're lieing.
BACK To what I said about the KI#. I added it, it was there, I Even took a Print screen of it! And now it's vanished. Without a trace. Only Cyan's SUPER KI'S can cloak numbers. I think, that there was some sort of problem with the Bahro Avvie last night when "NotABeast" appeared. It stayed on the Link In Spot, then poofed as if it quit down. I think the avatar was CRASHING upon linking.
It's certainly happened lots of times before; Ghosted avvies standing on the link in spot, not responsive to anything. I think that when it Linked in, the KI Cloak wasn't active like it was supposed to be, and hence caused the avatar to crash in public ages.
Now, the KI# is gone from my Buddies list. I said before that this is like what the Bahro Avvies back in the OLD MOUL were like, right? YES! EDIT: You say the avvie was Deleted? Try creating a New Character: NotABeast already exists.

Cyan, Yes No Or Maybe, is this Bahro, NotABeast, Yours?
I'm betting the answer is 'Yes.'
NOW: To my final Point: Willing Suspension Of Disbelief.
I said that Nota-San was my friend's first Bahro sighting. She's not IC or OOC by any regards. Just a player. But still, the first bahro sighting is an amazing thing. Hack or No Hack, I'll always remember MY first bahro sighting, just as she'll remember her's. But if it turns out to be a Hack, this memory will always be tainted.
The above two incidents listed show that the MOUL Forums are in a serrious need of Willing Suspension of Disbelief. Or Rather, a Suspension of Said Suspension. People on the MOUL Forums IMMEDIATELY Deduce that ANYTHING remotely Strange happening is a Hack anymore. Without investigating, or without clarification, this will just continue on.
What Happened to the Kind, Caring, and NON-JUDGING URU Community that I've known over my ENTIRE LIFE? Has it suddenly gone and died? Torn appart from within, Just Like the D'ni Cavern we've so long fought to explore? This IS The last chance URU has of living. Open Sourced. Trusted to the Community that kept everything alive for so long, only to be droped to the ground and fed to the Dogs?
The MOUL Forums are at a point where they are NOTHING but fighting. This is the first thing any new explorer will see. FIGHTING. It's not a prety Picture. CYAN, I Suggest you disable the MOUL OFFICIAL Forums entirely, but instead give links to EVERY Fan site there is. Uru Obsession, Guild of Writers, Guild Of Messengers, Greeters, Maintainers, Rel.to, ANYTHING! But just turn off the MOUL forums for now.
Ah, I think I've ranted for long enough, so I'll just say this:
By trying to "Protect" the game we so dearly love, by declaring anything and everything "EVIL!" you're doing nothing but Harm to the Cavern.
You guys need to Mo-men-tai! Take it Easy!
Cyan TRUSTS the community enough to Open Source URU to us, the fans- The Hackers- The Writers- The Moderators- The Maintainers- The Explorers! By delcaring everything-that's-kept-URU-alive-for-so-long as Evil, you're breaking that trust given to us.
I'm sorry if I sound demonic or anything, but that's just how I feel about it. Feel free to hunt me down and burn me alive, if you want. Send the Bloody Spanish Inquisiton, if you feel that strongly about it!
Just STOP Fighting, people! You're driving me to the point where I don't think I want to be here anymore.
JUST STOP FIGHTING!

What to say...I wonder...?
Friday night was nothing special. We left home, and drove up to the DTC {no, the Denver Tech. Center}, after which we Checked into the hotel and the Convention itself.
The Dealer room opened at 6, along with the Model room, where I droped off my gravity gun for the Model contest. Coincidentally, the Anime Room was right next to the Model Room, so I went there and saw a portion of the anime "07 Ghost" which I'll be adding to my long list of anime to look up.
Then we went to the Meed and Greet. The stars all skiped our table, (Don't care, really), but I talked with a table full of Doctor Who fans. ^_^
Dad and I went to the anime room for "Gunslinger Girl" when the orchestra started, though.
That was it for friday. Leading into:
SATURDAY, Saturday, Saturday!
We went to SF Pannel 1 to watch "How to Build an R2D2", then hung around the anime room for a while. We then went to the "Trailer Park" In main events to watch some movie trailers, then after that, Christopher Judge came on stage.
After he finished, we went to dinner, then went down to main events for Summer Glau, (Who I didn't give my FanFic to In Person, Okaa-san did since it was bundled in with her stuff). You know, these Starfest people don't know how to arrange events. Durring Summer Glau's pannel, in the anime room, They were showing "Last Exile", another anime I'm going to look up, and in the Super Hero Room, they were showing two new Doctor Who Episodes. -_-;
Some how, the fire alarm went off durring the middle of Summer's Q&A session. Everyone evacuated from the Main Events room Calmly, orderly, and SLOWLY.
We stood outside for a good thirty minutes before they let us back in. No-one else had to leave the building, strangely enough. Summer's pannel continued on for the remaining time that it orignally had, only just giving us time to get to the "Star Wars: The Backstroke of the West" event.
Let me just say: Poorly translated subtitles {Is elephant even a VERB?!}, plus Mystery Science Theater commentary, Equals A room full of laughing people!
Look it up sometime!
Finially, SUNDAY: There wasn't a lot to do, as everyone was packing up and leaving.
We ended up sitting around waiting for things, even though we could have gone to see other things {like gone to the Anime room. Now I've got to look THOSE up now!}.
I picked up my gravity gun (SECOND PLACE! WHOOOO!), then went to the "Alternate History for Writers" Pannel in SF 2, which was rather interresting, then we listened to Marina Sirtis and Gary Lockwood talk before we came home.
That's it. Our Fabulous Starfest weekend.
Fun, right? I thought so.
Look up StarWars: Backstroke of the West with the commentary and subtitles!
DO IT.
You Will LAUGH.

A History for New explorers- IC Version
Dear Community,
I've noticed recently that some new explorers have come down to the cavern recently and are a bit confused by events. I would like to remedy that with a (hopefully) Brief history on events in the cavern.
*AHHEM, THIS EXPLANATION IS IC ONLY, OOC EXPLANATION WILL COME AT A LATER DATE*
Back in the early two-thousands, a group known as the D'ni Restoration Foundation, headed by Elias Zandi, was formed for the exploration and restoration of the Underground cavern of D'ni. D'ni is a D'ni word loosely meaning "New Life", The D'ni race escaped their old, dying world to come to ours, of course, it wasn't ours then, but you get the point. The D'ni race have all since died out, with only a hand full of them surviving orginally. {The D'ni race now live of the age of Releeshan.}
The DRF group eventually evolved into the D'ni Restoration Council, or DRC, including members: Doctor Richard Watson; Ikuro Kodama, Victor Laxman, Michal Engberg, and Marie Sutherland. The DRC, in late 2003, began bringing authorized explorers down to the cavern of D'ni. It was at this time that Yeesha, Daughter of Atrus- A Decendent of a survivor of the D'ni race-, began bringing un-authorized explorers down to the cavern. The DRC were supprised by this turn of events, but were unsettled even more by mysterious atifacts (Un-authorized Linking books, strange linking stones, Pages, cloths and Strange doorways) began appearing in their ages. The DRC Did not have much time to ponder this, however, as Restoration Engineer Phil "phend" Henderson vanished without a trace. As the DRC investigated, an explorer found Phil traped behind the "Bahro Door" In Eder Kemo. Phil then ran off, and later re-appeared on top of the Tomb of the Great King (See The Kings Hall journals), quoting "He will come" before plummeting to his supposed Death in a cave in.
The First restoration closed in early 2004, forcing the authorized explorers back to the surface (Or to follow Yeesha's path), and leaving the un-authorized explorers, along with their Relto books, alone in an abandoned Cavern. Durring this time, Explorers re-calibrated the Great Zero in Private instances of the city, opening mysterious shell shaped portals that linked to the Great Shaft, including a journal by Dr. Watson, who had stayed behind after the closing of the restoration. A short time later, Explorers soon found a new path, The Path of the Shell, set up by Yeesha. A new journal on The Watcher, a mysterious D'ni prophed who was supposedly born mid-link, and his five volumes of "Words" Were added to Relto Book Shelfs. Inside the Er'cana and Ahnonay Ages, strange pieces of papers with numbers {EG: "4:12"} were scattered on walls along with strange box/line drawings.
The numbers refrenced the Watcher's words, and the box/line drawings refrenced to a final puzzle, which was accessed when one completed the path via walking an actual shell rune. The final puzzle was located inside MYST Island's fireplace, which you linked into from the shell path. The code revealed a linking book to K'veer, where you were rewarded with a cryptic message.
In 2005, Dr. Watson partook on a Journey of his own. A journey on which the events of the game "MYST V END OF AGES" Is based upon. He Freed the bahro race, giving them their freedom, though if these events are accurate or not remains to be seen.
In late 2006, the DRC returned to cavern, albeit without funding. They were attempting to attract funding from varrious sources, one of these funders, Cate Alexander, decided to take the bait.
The DRC were now with funding, and were preparing to open the cavern officaly, when the strangest event happened. Durring a DRC press conference, KI's started going haywaire, Laxman remarked "What The!?" Before a Bahro scream, unlike any ever heard before, occured. This scream was heard throught EVERY age. Even explorers on the surface, having long abandoned the restoration, or those who had never even heard of D'ni, heard this scream. This "Great Scream" Linked explorers to their Relto ages, leaving those who had never before used a linking book very confused. Those who knew what happened were confused though. The Scream had Removed their relto pages, reset their age progress, and utterly fried their KI's. The KI's were not the only thing reset, however, all D'ni Technology, from the Imagers and Doors down to the Water fountains stoped working.
Explorers began to explore once again, with the DRC leading in front, backed with funding by Miss Alexander. The DRC released Four Pods, each linked with mysterious portals, which were on the same age. These pods were supposed to show vibrant animal life. But, they were supprisingly lacking. The answer was simple. A Predator was killing the animals. The next age to be released by the DRC was Minkata, durring this release, however, A terrible event happened, Wheely Engberg, Daughter of Michael Engberg, was traped in a cave in. A Bahro was traped with her. Durring the week long rescue attempt, Explorer's rallied to save her. But, before the DRC could get the girl from the cave, the bahro attacked and killed her. The wounds made by the Bahro were identical by the predator on the animals. Douglas sharper then revealed that while he was surveying the animals in Negilahn, he witnessed the bahro at war with eachother. The DRC then Released Er'cana for Reviving the Lake, then Jalak and the Guild pubs. Durring this, Phil Henderson was found to be alive. Ahnonay was released, and Yeesha returned to the Cavern, leading the Waring bahro away from the cavern.
Explorers left a few months later, only now to return after a Sensor was tripped.
I Hope this brief history was brief enough.

D'ni is a D'ni word loosely meaning "New Life", The D'ni race escaped their old, dying world to come to ours, of course, it wasn't ours then, but you get the point. The D'ni race have all since died out, with only a hand full of them surviving orginally. {The D'ni race now live of the age of Releeshan.}

CRASH AND BURN!
UGH. Just. UGH.
So, last night everything was fine and dandy, then URU Froze. And I had to turn the computer off just to get it to close.
Cut to this afternoon, I'm trying to get everything back up and running, and ONE Tab of IE in particular Freezes. Making me close All IE windows down entirely, and restart.
I am not amused.

BAHROOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Jamey, in the "Uru's True Beauty" thread on MOUL forums, just posted a pic of a kawaii little bahro!
Say it with me, "Daaaawwwww......"
So, bahro appear, and now the servers are down? Odd.
Most likely a coincidence.

Ah, Restarts.
You know what's annoying? When you click something thinking it's something else and geting something else entirely different.
Did that make sense?

Patience is KEY.
And so, having calmed down a LOT from last night, I wait for the servers to come online.

I digress.
So, URU's downloadable now. Yup. And as soon as it was out, everyone came out of the woodwork. Now it's impossible to get in.
I've been told to regester accounts and start downloading. But I just get page errors. "You are not allowed to access this page" sort of thing. It's quite annoying.
So, while I wait patiently for the servers to clear up (Which probably won't be any time soon), I wonder WHY exactly people try to rush things. I mean, if you Were wanting to get in, I'd asume you'd do it in a timely manner, like Cyan was expecting.
No. Everyone decides to go and CRASH THE SERVER! No GORRAM PATIENCE AT ALL! NONE WHATSOEVER!
I sware, people have no self controll. People keep asking, "Have you gotten in yet?" while it's clear that EVERYONE has trouble getting in. People keep asking "How do I get in?" They keep asking "Why am I getting this error?" and then ask "should I have done this thing?" When they were told to do it already. Then the repeat the cycle.
PLEASE. MATA NUI, PLEASE! Just make it stop already!
